hi! I'm Erin. My fiance Nic and I are getting married June 26, 2009 at Regatta Place. My inspiration for my placecards came from the Queen of DIY, Martha! I found these paper pinwheels on her website, and just felt like a kid again. I wanted all the elements of my wedding to be whimsical and reminicent of summertime, and what could be more " 5 years old running in the backyard" than pinwheels?

I knew I wanted something fun for guests to do while we walked down the aisle. I love pictures where the bride and groom are showered in petals or are running through a line of sparklers at the end of the night. Since neither of those options were allowed at my venue, I had to think of an alternate. Browsing through Weddingbee one night, I found that one Bee made YAY flags. She had taken a silkscreening class and made them with the materials they had. I know nothing about silk screening, and had no time to take a class. Low and behold, I found the directions on how to make them using iron on transfers!

My bachelorette party was a surprise. I got an evite from one of my best friends asking if I could "make my own surprise" being that I work pretty much every weekend. She did pick a weekend when I could actually get away, so I responded yes! Closer to the weekend, I was told to pack for all weather and to bring my fiance! We packed for beach and for chilly nights, but left the snow suit at home!

Then we got to the Ferry and knew we were in for a fun filled 24 hours!

Back in April, my Mom and Bridesmaids threw me an awesome shower back home in New Jersey (where my family and BM's live!). They told me it was my flower girl's second birthday party, so I took the day off work and drove south.

Didn't know I was walking in to a surprise!

Well, I am so sorry for my lack of posts before the big day. It happens that I chose to get married in the busiest season for me at work, so I had absolutely no time for blogging (BOOOO!). Good News: now that I don't have to worry about planning the wedding in my free time, I can catch you all up on my plans, and how they came together!

The lovely Kristin Spencer posted a little inspiration board of our wedding on her blog, she is doing a series of color inspirations. So I hope this will tide you all over until I can get back in the game!

As part of our Wedding Gift, Summer Groom's Mom graciously offered the services of a close friend, Leanne Savaro of Quaint Correspondences for our wedding invitations. So I did find some seersucker pumps at a discount store last summer that I thought were perfection, but my friend just showed me these and let me know how perfect they would be! oh Kate, you are so fabulous!

Sorry I've been a bad chatty lately! The holidays really wiped me out of ideas to blog about. I've been thinking about our get away lately. Since we will be leaving the reception at night time, I'm not sure if I really NEED to get a cool car, but I kind of want to! I'd love to find a vintage VW convertible or I've been thinking about a pedi-cab lately! How are you leaving your reception? I'd love to do sparklers, too, but unfortunately no fire allowed :) Any other unique ideas in that department?
