Hello brides! My name is Rebecca and my fiancé is Mike! We have an adorable baby Cole, who was born in January. We are getting married in October with a traditional ceremony at St.Mary's Church here in Newport followed by a reception at the Hyatt Regency Newport, going for a romantic vintage theme..but we can talk more about themes later!
I absolutely love the autumn season here in New England which is why October was the perfect month for us to get married!
I'm excited to share my journey to the alter- baby and a wedding in one year - some people might think I'm crazy but I just love this stuff and cannot wait until October!~

Chatties… I’m going back and forth about a ceremony program..I know, as someone who comes from the hospitality industry I know we should have one at our church- its formal and a nice way to introduce the bridal party…but I also know everyone throws them out or leaves them on the church pews. My BM/personal graphic designer ( I think she’s seen enough of me these days!) is already working on well did the Save the Dates, the invites, now the rehearsal dinner invites, candy buffet signs/stickers, table place cards and table numbers…I don’t want to overload her nor do I want to spend more money at the print shop. Any suggestions??

Our invitations were mailed about three weeks ago and the rsvp’s have been flowing in! I wanted to share our invitations with you as my bridesmaid and best friend did an amazing job! She is a graphic designer and has her own business, Songbirds, which is an invitation company on the side! I had a contrasting color purple envelope and the invitations were printed on thick silver metallic paper ( hard to see in a photograph). I love the little map of how to get from the church to the reception!
The graphic and quote will be used throughout the reception on menu cards, candy buffet signs and table numbers. Enjoy!

Last minute I decided to have my friend who designed our invitations do a quick invite for the rehearsal dinner. We have a decent size wedding party (8 on each side plus a flower girl) and about 65% are married (making our rehearsal dinner count over 40 people) but with the hustle and bustle of traveling for the wedding and making family arrangements not everyone’s spouse will be attending. We really want to get a good grip on the rsvp’s for the final meal count and for ordering the bottles of wine for the dinner. Is it necessary to do a formal mailed invitation for the rehearsal? I’m getting mixed thoughts and wanted to know what the Chatty’s think!

Have any of you Chattys purchased anything from WeddingBee.com? It is basically a Craig’s List for brides. I found an amazing deal on linen and really want to make the purchase but am a little nervous it’s too good to be true. Any thoughts? Thank you!

I have been searching for silver sanding sugar for our signature cocktails for MONTHS! It’s been making me crazy and today I found an awesome web site I wanted to pass along if any of you Chattys are looking for color specific food products. NYCake.com has a variety of sanding sugar and edible dust, along with other backing needs. Just wanted to pass this along if anyone was doing a specialty cocktail they needed this kind of product for!

Lately I’ve had a real obsession with dupioni silk, which is silk with that raw look to it which adds texture ( I love anything with texture to by the way!). I ordered an amazing card box off of ETSY.com in that material and it started me on this silk theme! Who knew you could have a silk obsession about a particular type of silk? Honestly with a 6 month old baby and a full time career I do not know how I have the time to drool over fabric but I can’t stop! I’m shooting for silver dupioni linens for the reception and out of all the fabric samples for my dress of course I loved the dupioni!
Chatty’s what is your wedding obsession?? I need to know I’m not the only one!

My latest obsession is to mix up my reception with a blend of square and rectangular tables or possibly round and rectangular! I can’t stop thinking about this! Working in the industry you see so many beautiful ideas and the square table looks so elegant and fresh. Don’t get me wrong, rounds are great because everyone at the table can really interact with one another but I need to spice up my reception without spending too much money. Most people could honestly care less and will not think twice about the shape of the table they are sitting at. For me, I notice every detail and I love how romantic a square table with lots of glowing candles and low arrangements looks! Here is my inspiration!!

Chattys- our invites are heading to print this week (YAY) but I am still tossing around the rsvp date on the response cards…Our wedding is October 23rd and originally I had a September 1st return date but now I’m thinking that’s a little too early (the invites are being mailed by August 1st) yet I don’t want to get them back too late because I’m having my seating chart done up by a graphic designer who can’t do this last minute. Would September 15th be better or should I just leave it the 1st or is this too early and it should be October 1st?? HELP!

After the vows have been exchanged the traditional bride with go on to take her new husbands last name. At this point in my life I am completely torn if I want to do this or not. Our son does have Mr. Glamour’s last name so of course since we are a family I want us to all share the same name. At the same time my name is part of my own identity and I don’t know if I want to lose this part of me just because I am now “married”. I do not want to offend Mr. Glamour in any way but am really struggling with this one Chattys………….

We choose Sardella’s Italian Restaurant in Newport for our rehearsal dinner in October! Sardella’s has several great private rooms for events. I just love the menu - how can you go wrong with Italian cuisine?Plus it's one block up from St.Mary's here in Newport-what an easy walk from the ceremony rehearsal!

What makes Sardella’s different is their style of serving the meal. They have a bistro tier on each table with three different entrees that you pre selected, with pasta and a veggie on the side. This is a great way to create conversation amongst guests who may not know one another very well as you all serve your meal from this tiered rack.
