WOW!!!!! Thank goodness for photographers and videographers or else I wouldn't remember anything about the wedding!
Where should I begin!!!!! The weekend was amazing! The weather was picture perfect! I felt like my whole life converged into one, and all our families and friends came together to celebrate... the air was saturated with joy! We had people come from all across the country; from Maine to California and some as far as Israel!
Being an older bride has it drawbacks (no longer skinny and youthful), but one benefit has been the utter jubilation from everyone who has watched me go through one painful relationship to the next, listening to me through the many years (25+). Most of my friends have children in high school and some older...I've been in countless weddings, attended multiple baby showers, and had many long nights wondering if I would meet my soulmate.
Almost 7 weeks ago I thought I lost it all with the motorcycle accident that practically killed my fiance. My dream wedding changed shape, instead of finalizing all the fun details, we focused on getting him strong and healthy, but even 6 weeks wasn't quite enough, my fiance lost almost 20 pounds from the accident and was in pain throughout our wedding day. He was a trooper, as he did make it to midnight and he tried like hell to not show his discomfort...but I knew.
With all this said...it was all so incredibly wonderful...and I can't wait to see the pictures. The only ones I have are a few blurry ones from friends and I'm reluctant to post them.
I am posting a photo from the rehearsal dinner...taken at the end of the night, so my fiance looks a bit tired...poor thing!
More to come!

Well it's been three weeks since my fiance was in the motorcycle accident, and it has been a very long road! My focus has been on his recovery, work, and of coarse the wedding, which is NOW 3 weeks away! I am so exhausted with so much to do. I need to rally! Last weekend was my bachelorette party and although it really was something special, I couldn't totally let go knowing my fiance was home and still uncomfortable. He is getting better, but with 2 broken wrists, broken arm and bruised, it makes it hard for him to do basic tasks. It takes about 4 months to fully recover from this type of injury. For the wedding, he will be slow and tired, but he will be there...alive! Thank god!
Tomorrow I have family coming from Israel for the wedding, they will stay with my parents...from here forward it's going to get very crazy and everything will be in super fast motion!
I have my check list and I'm plugging through!!!!! I just got my veil yesterday from Edna Mae's in Newport and it is beautiful, exactly how I imagined! The owner Jamie was very kind, she sent me a gift (necklace & earrings) with the veil because there was a delay in the arrival. very thoughtful.
Thanks chatty's for being there for me as I vent. I'm just overwhelmed and tired and I never dreamed in all my years, (I am 45 years old, this is my first marriage), that the man waiting for me at the end of the aisle would be recovering from a motorcycle accident...you never know what's ahead in life...that's for sure. I have posted a couple of bachelorette party pictures...not bad for a group of 40-somethings!!!!!!
Photos: beginning of the night in the limo, me starting to unwind, the gang at the end of the night!

Hi Everyone,
Last Saturday, July 12th, my life turned upside down in a heartbeat. I got the call no-one ever wants to get. I was walking into Rentals Unlimited in Newport to go over the tables, tent etc and my fiance's son called me on the phone, and asked me if I was driving, when I said no, he told me to sit down...my heart dropped. He told me that his dad (my fiance) was in a motorcycle accident, to get in my car and drive home (an hour drive) meet his grandparents (my fiances parents) and go to Mass General. I was alone and shaking as I was trying to get off that island and get home, it was hell!
To make a long story short, later that evening I found out the did not have any spinal, brain, back or internal injuries...I could breathe (barely). He ended up having two broken wrists and humorous bone (between elbow and shoulder) and was badly banged up & bruised.
The accident itself happened in Boston while the two of them were riding around, his son saw the whole thing, construction played a roll in the incident as his bike hit a rough patch and he was thrown 30 feet into a cement wall.
He will fully recover! AND YES, in time for the wedding on AUGUST 23rd! This past week my life was a blur and I was/am drained. He came home from the hospital yesterday and now we have a whole new set of challenges, but we will get through this. "For better or for worse" the test came a bit earlier than I would expect...but for a time I thought I could have lost him and I couldn't imagine it.
This wedding will take on new meaning for all of us. Both our families are even closer now and I'm just so thankful I still have him. No more stressing about ribbons and menus and all the details that have made me crazy. It will all work out and I am so lucky. AND so what if it's not perfect! (but it will be :-)
Thank you chattyfriends for letting me share...I'm back with just over a month to go!!!!! Can't wait to start posting fun things again!
Photo shown is of my fiances pillow at Mass General...his sons racing (motocross) number: 84. We thought is was a sign of good things to come!
