On Monday night Mr. M and I had our much anticipated meeting with our floral designer Jeff Gincastro owner of Jeff & Co. I first met with Jeff over a year ago, flowers and decor were really important to Mr. M and I and we dedicated a significant portion of our budget to the expense.
I liked Jeff right away-- you've heard me say this before, but our Monday meeting made me like him even more! From 7:30 to 9:30 we discussed every little detail of the plan. Mr. M and I had changed some things since I last spoke with Jeff, so we needed to change some of our florals as well, Jeff was so accommodating, and had a new fun idea at every juncture. I really feel like I made a good decision here, and Mr. M is completely thrilled, he can't wait to see what Jeff constructs for us. Were 73 days away, and this is one thing I know I don't have to worry about!
If you saw my previous post on floral inspiration, you know I was looking for a "pop" something to bring my floral scheme to life. Jeff had wonderful ideas, well be using...
A range of orchids from tan/mauve to deep burgundy/chocolate, crimson and "flame" (these have a nice bronze sheen to them in person, in my picture they just look orange) calla lilies, dark and light blue hydrangea, chocolate cosmos, brown fiddle head (these look like curled up monkey tails), fuchsia dendrobium orchid accents, and blue berries.

I am so excited! When I first met with Gabrielle Marks, my photographer, we had talked about how Trash The Dress sessions were a neat idea. We tossed around the idea, but she'd never done one, and I wasn't sure my fiance would be into the idea. She got in touch with me last week, and we're going for it!
Since our wedding is at Whispering Pines, there are woods and trees, rivers, waterfalls, and a lake on site. We'll be there all weekend, so Saturday she'll take the regular photos and scope out some good spots. Then on Sunday, David and I will climb back into our wedding attire and go play!
I've started to cruise for inspiration photos. There are canoes available for all, so I know this is a must-take! Click on "more" for some other inspiration photos.
By the way, I'm not planning to totally "trash" the dress; it will be cleaned and donated when I'm done. We *might* take the dress swimming...but mostly it's a chance to take photos that reflect our venue and our personalities without worrying about getting dirty.
