This Saturday I am meeting with a hairstylist and will be trying out a few different looks for the wedding. She asked me to bring photos of idea's and I really haven't found what I'm visualizing, even after going through my huge stack of wedding magazines! Do any of you know of any good web sites for hairstyles?
Has anyone toured Belle Mer on Goat Island in Newport, RI? Im supposed to be going on a tour on Saturday and Im on the fence about going as Im leaning more towards the other three places: OceanCliff, Regatta Place, and The Towers in Narragansett. Just wanted to gather your thoughts. I have attached the link if you HAVEN'T toured it so maybe you could give your opnions as well.
'Tis the season for Bridal Shows, tastings, and loads of planning! At the Grand Bridal Show this past weekend, the staff at Fine Catering by Russell Morin wowed us! We always knew they were a clever and creative team however their Table Top display and show display were STUNNING! With the perfectly matched bursts of floral color and textures.. Flowers by Semia helped add the needed final accent to each!
So I received the dress swatches from Stephanie today, the silk doupioni & pink lace. It's adorable! The "eyelash border" as she called it is so delicate and ads a fun detailing to the lace.. and the color is perfect so that it's not screaming white, it will be more of a neutral I think against my skin. I love it!
Question though, I'm looking for opinions and thoughts so please share.
Would you ever buy a gown that you've never tried only seen in pictures, that's being custom made?
The hubby is scared for me since I've never tried it on, however I'm lucky in that most things I can get away with...should I try and travel to try the dress on first? (by the way it's in California)
Personally I think I'm good, but I'm curious what others would do???
On Saturday, I attended the Grand Bridal Show at the Rhodes on the Pawtuxet with my mom. While I was unimpressed by the fashion show (bridal gowns and bridesmaids dresses) I was VERY impressed by the amount of choices it presented to me in terms of photogs, caterers, venues, florests, etc. It definitely proved to be a good choice to attend as someone who was newly engaged. In particular, when one of the male models walked down the runway with a bridal bouquet, I KNEW I had to have it! It has white roses, white cala lillies, white roses and some funky little white feathers sprouting out of it and has streams of Swarovski crystals coming out the sides. They are all wrapped in Silver ribbon adorned with Swarovski crystals as well. Its beautiful!! Ive made some decisions as of recently... I have narrowed down my venues to: The Towers in Narragansett, Ocean Cliff, Regatta Club or Belle Mer. Im quite sure that we'll use Memorial Day Weekend in 2009 as our wedding date. The theme of the wedding is going to be "Glitz and Glam" (in a classy way not cheesy) as it says a little bit about my over-the-top personality. For a band, my mom and I met "GQ and the Lady" when they were performing at Copley Place last November and fell in love with them and quite surprisingly, they were a headliner at the Grand Bridal Show. Now thats fate! They are available that weekend and are reasonably priced. And finally, the point of all of this ramble, is that I found my florist!! As soon as I saw the bouquet at the booth, I went over to talk with them. Suddenly, I realized that the owner "got me" and how important it is to connect with the vendors. My florist is going to be The Enchanted Florist in Providence. I cant believe how things just seem to come together. We actually are going to make our choices about the venues this Saturday, so I'll keep you informed as to my choice. This is such an exciting time!! Thoughts??
After researching which site to use I recalled reading about a recommended website in one of my 'Martha Stewart Weddings' magazines and quickly found my old issue. This past weekend I purchased a 12-month subscription to Wedding Window. I must admit how easy the site is to use (I am not ‘tech-savy’) and I absolutely LOVED how I can completely make certain pages (they have 40 that you could potentially fill out) ‘inactive’ allowing Ryan and me a clean & crisp site with the necessary information about us, our ceremony and reception, directions, accommodation ideas, weekend activities, our vendors, etc.
If you are recently engaged and still in need of a website check out Wedding Window at www.weddingwindow.com. They offer a free 7-day trial (most sites will offer free trials). Additionally, they have a promotion offering two free Martha Stewart Weddings magazine issues with new 12-month subscriptions on or after 1/19/2008.
