So now that I'm a Mrs, like most other brides, I still find myself looking at wedding things. I have many friends who are engaged and getting married so we are constantly looking for inspiration. Our newest research and something I would have liked to do but ran out of time was put something on the doors of the church we got married in. We found some beautiful and interesting ideas. Are you doing anything to decorate your church?

Here are some photos of the plates that I mentioned in response to your post earlier today. My sister rented them and used them for one of my showers. They were really classy and added a unique element to the tables. I think the color might work well with the color scheme you posted earlier today. The second picture shows that they are more aquamarine as opposed to dark blue.

My younger brother took on the task of building our card box. We wanted something along the lines of a box with pictures on the sides. He worked really hard over all his collage breaks to get this done for us. He did a pretty good job! What do you think?!

So our wedding is at Andover Country Club. So we decided after much debate that our place settings and table numbers would reflect the golf course theme. Our place cards are small boxes with grass and a navy blue golf tee with a ball on top. The ball will have the table number and my brothers are cutting slits in the top of the balls so we can stick a place card with the persons name in the top. The table numbers will be golf flags (like the golf flags that are found at each golf hole on a golf course!) The pole will be navy blue and the flag will be white with the table number. The grass was the hardest part. I wanted something that looked somewhat real so we went with something called Static Grass that is used for modeling (like someone that sets up train sets, etc) I think they came out pretty well, what do you think?

Okay, onto my post :)

It's certainly no secret to us, there are so many great details you could totally splurge on to make your day that much more perfect, things you may think are necessary, obsess over, etc. The possibilities are endless, but unfortunately for some (aka: me), the budgets are not so endless. So I've been doing some thinking, researching, running circles in my mind, etc to come up w/ spectacular yet affordable details that our guests are sure to remember. Mr K & I attended EIGHT weddings last year and I'm happy to share a detail of ours that we have yet to experience as a guest.........sparklers!

Lately I’ve had a real obsession with dupioni silk, which is silk with that raw look to it which adds texture ( I love anything with texture to by the way!). I ordered an amazing card box off of ETSY.com in that material and it started me on this silk theme! Who knew you could have a silk obsession about a particular type of silk? Honestly with a 6 month old baby and a full time career I do not know how I have the time to drool over fabric but I can’t stop! I’m shooting for silver dupioni linens for the reception and out of all the fabric samples for my dress of course I loved the dupioni!

Is basic white too blah for you? You want to spice up your bridal look with a splash of crimson or cool it off with cobalt? The things you could do too add color stretch beyond your bridal bouquet and ribbon to shoes, veils, crinolines, and jewelry. Take a peek at some cool (and maybe some crazy) ideas.

Nina allows you to create your own shoes, not just the color, but heel height, style, and more! Fun idea: Do a gradient of colors and styles for your bridesmaids! Oh and the styles are SO fun, not the same old same old strappy sandal.

My latest obsession is to mix up my reception with a blend of square and rectangular tables or possibly round and rectangular! I can’t stop thinking about this! Working in the industry you see so many beautiful ideas and the square table looks so elegant and fresh. Don’t get me wrong, rounds are great because everyone at the table can really interact with one another but I need to spice up my reception without spending too much money. Most people could honestly care less and will not think twice about the shape of the table they are sitting at. For me, I notice every detail and I love how romantic a square table with lots of glowing candles and low arrangements looks! Here is my inspiration!!
